The Marshall County Football Jamboree is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15 at Preston Hopkins Field. The three matchups are: Cornersville vs. Richland; Lincoln County vs. Giles County; and Marshall County vs. Coffee County.

The MCHS soccer teams will offer a Soccer Skills Camp for Marshall County students ages 5-12 on Friday, Aug. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the MCHS soccer fields. Duck River Electric Membership Corporation will hold its annual meeting of members at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, in the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center, 147 Hospitality Blvd., Manchester. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.

Marshall County Chiropractic will host a Kid's Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Westhills Elementary School. There will be games, door prizes and demonstrations. All proceeds will go to the March of Dimes.

Marshall County High School golf teams will hold their ninth Annual Golf Tournament starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Saddle Creek Golf Club, Lewisburg. For information call 270-7280.

There will be a gospel singing at Cross Keys Baptist Church at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. The Encouragers and Brother John and The Gospel Carriers will perform.

The Giles County Gospel Music Association will host a night of gospel singing at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, in the Giles County High School Auditorium. Admission and parking are free and full concessions will be available.

The Marshall County House of Hope "Community Awareness Day" will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 661 2nd Ave., Lewisburg. Free hamburgers and hot dogs will be available as the public is invited to witness the beginning of the new development.


The Election Commission will meet to certify the state primary/county general/town of Chapel Hill elections at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at 230 College Street, Lewisburg, in the Hardison Office Annex, Suite 120.

All offices at all Columbia State Community College locations will be closed on Aug. 18, for faculty and staff professional development. The fall 2008 fee payment deadline has been extended until 6 p.m. on Aug.19. Automated online payment and registration services are available and all offices will be open from 7:45 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Aug. 19.

The Marshall County Solid Waste Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, on the second floor of the Courthouse Annex.

The City of Lewisburg's Planning and Zoning Commission will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Lewisburg City Hall, 131 E. Church St.

The Marshall County Board of Public Utilities will hold its regular monthly board meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 624 West Commerce St., Lewisburg.

The Downtown Alliance will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Lewisburg City Hall in the third meeting to discuss the present and future of the Lewisburg Square.

Marshall County High School will hold an open house from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19 at the school.

The Marshall County Emergency Communications District Board of Directors will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21. The meeting is set for the Emergency Operations Center in the Hardison Annex Building, 230 College St.

The Lewisburg Water and Sewer Board will meet in regular session on Thursday, Aug. 21, in the board room, 100 Water Street.

The Lewisburg American Legion Post 39 will meet 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Life Center.
