Mildred Farlow Vincion, 94, of Eagleville, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008.

Mrs. Vincion was a native of Marshall County. She was retired from Stahl-Ervin Garment Co. of Shelbyville after 20 years of service and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rocky Glade Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Eagleville. Mrs. Vincion was very active in the Eagleville Homemakers Club and the Eagleville Senior Citizens, and was a board member of the Eagleville Library.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willlie Thomas and Ella Mai Cole Farlow; husband, Henry Maynard Vincion; daughter, Mary Louise Vincion; and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughers, Alma (Larry) Hazel of Eagleville and Barbara (Charles) Bowman of Murfreesboro; sons, Emory Vincion of Shelbyville and L. D. Vincion of Madison, Tenn.; sisters, Myrtle Ring of Pottsville, Linda Duncan of Lakeland, Fla., and Delories Sisk of Columbia; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Jobe and Rev. Vance King officiating, followed by burial in Swanson Cemetery.

Grandson and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Gary Jerome Hill Sr., 59, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Dr. Hill was a native of Marshall County. He attended First Baptist Church of Orlando and was an adult Sunday School teacher.

He received his high school diploma from Jones High School in Lewisburg; his bachelor's degree from Fisk University in Nashville; and his MBA and Ph.D. from Coast University in Santa Ana, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erwin Garrett and John and Fannie Hill, all of Lewisburg.

He is survived by his grandmother, Iva Garrett; parents, James Emerson Hill of Spartanburg, S.C. and Zela Mai Hill of Lewisburg; wife, Sylvia J. Hill; children, Tabatha Zsa Zsa Hill, Contonio Der Rico Hill, and Tharron Dejuan Hill, all of Detroit, Gary Jerome Hill II of Columbus, Ohio, and Sharee Ivita Hill of Orlando, Fla.; brothers, Erwin Renard Hill and James Anthony Hill, both of Lewisburg; sisters, Sylvia Drusilla Davis of Lewisburg and Kathy Wiles of Spartanburg, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the Lewisburg Family Life Center, 426 Heil Ave.

Dr. Hill will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Greater First Baptist Church in Lewisburg. Funeral services will follow with Herbert Johnson officiating, with burial in Cook Memorial Cemetery.
