Faylene Davis Tyree Wilkerson, 77, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, in NHC Lewisburg.
Mrs. Wilkerson was a native of Marshall County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Napoleon Sr. and Georgie Smith Davis Tyree; husband, James Gordon Wilkerson; and sister, Frances Luna.
She is survived by her children, Nada (Harry) Howes, John Paul Wilkerson, and Jim Wilkerson, all of Lewisburg; brothers, John (Emma Lee) Tyree of Flat Creek and Paul (Margaret) Tyree Jr. of Lewisburg; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Lone Oak Cemetery.
The family will be at London Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour for visitation.
Albert Owen Parker
Albert Owen Parker, 56, of the Rocky Fork Community of Rutherford County, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Parker was a native of Bedford County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling Parker Sr. and Emma Jewel Gannon Parker.
He is survived by four brothers, William Horace Parker of Detroit, Mich., Will H. Parker and Virgil S. Parker, both of Rocky Fork, and Euwing Parker of Newberry, Fla.
There will be visitation at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 16, at Giles Creek Baptist Church, 7084 Rocky Fork Rd., Smyrna, followed by burial in Cothran Cemetery, Bedford County.
Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Trace Edwin Handy
Trace Edwin Handy, 46, of Wartrace, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Mr. Handy was a native of Wilmington, Ohio. He was co-owner of Handy Concrete, an employee of Jostens, a board member of the Bedford County Baseball League, and coach for the Cascade Junior Pro.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Ogles Handy of Wartrace; mother, Charlene Hammond Taylor of Shelbyville; stepsons, Josh Brandon of Murfreesboro and Daniel and Andrew Brandon of Wartrace; brothers, James Bradley Handy of Unionville and Terrance Benton Handy of Shelbyville; and grandmother, Evelyn Hammond of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 15, at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Geoffrey Giesemann and Russ Countess officiating, followed by burial in Ogles Cemetery, Coffee County.
Gertrude Hanes Jent
Gertrude Hanes Jent, 91, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at the Cal Turner Extended Care in Scottsville, Ky.
Mrs. Jent was a native of Allen County. She was a member of the Scottsville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sankey Hanes and Johnie Tracy Hanes, and husband, George Clay Jent.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Jent Johnson of Scottsville; son, David (Pat) Jent of Lewisburg; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 15, at the T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home, followed by burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.
