William Howard Wells
William Howard "Billy" Wells, 60, of Columbia, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Wells was a native of Marshall County. He was a private contractor who delivered the Daily Herald for over 20 years. He was a veteran of the Army and a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lila Dean Archer Wells, and brother, Jerry Wells.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Kelley Wells; sons, Sam Wells of Florida, and Mark Wells and Brian (Kerry) Wells, both of Lewisburg; stepchildren, Hank (Linda) Chatman of Culleoka, Shelia (Donald) Williams of Ethridge, and Adam (Shelby) Runions of Columbia; sister, Linda Warren, and sister-in-law, Margaret Willis, both of Lewisburg; one grandchild; and six stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Wells will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, from the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Eddie Rogers officiating, followed by burial in the Pleasant Mount Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Army.
The pallbearers will be Buddy Warren, Cliff Warren, David Warren, Hank Chatman, Donald Williams and Adam Runions.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Houston Jamison and staff.
Neil Ellis White
Neil Ellis White Jr., 65, of Lewisburg, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at Marshall Medical Center.
Mr. White was a native of Houston, Texas. He was a retired computer operations specialist with NASA and was employed at the Lewisburg Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil Ellis White Sr. and Effie Inez Green White.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann White of Lewisburg; son, Pete Love of Murfreesboro; sisters, Judy (Tom) Johnson of Wilmington, Ill., Deborah White of Athens, Ga., Carolyn White Davis of Pipe Creek, Texas, and Barbara (Brian) Strickland of Huntsville, Ala.; uncle, John Fitzgerald Green of Vance, Ala.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, Jan. 22, at the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home.

Robert Layman Harlin
Robert Layman Harlin, 79, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at NHC Lewisburg.
Mr. Harlin was a native of Columbus, Ga. He worked as a plaster technician in home remodeling and was a member of the Baptist church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh O. Hutcherson and Nora Braswell Hutcherson; first wife, Betty J. Harlin; sister, Shirley Harlin; and two sons, Shelby and Dean Harlin.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie M. Harlin; sons, Chris B. (Diane) Harlin and Keith R. (Kathy) Harlin, both of Florida.; daughter, Lydia (Patrick) Peldner of Texas; stepdaughter, Glaydene (Paul) Gutierrez; stepson, James Newsome; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mr. Harlin will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Brother Tom Sumners officiating.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 3 p.m. until the funeral hour.
