Chapel Hill notes
I hope everyone is staying warm. Monday, Feb. 2, is Groundhog Day (and Tommy's birthday). We'll learn if Spring is close or we'll have six more weeks of winter weather. It appears to me the groundhog sees his shadow every year.
We all know what Sunday is: the Super Bowl. There will be several Super Bowl parties with fans cheering for both teams while enjoying lots of food and fellowship. I'm not a big football fan, so I'm not even sure who's playing. But I'm sure it will be a great game.
Lisa and Chase Hunter, of Lewisburg, will probably be giving more attention to their new baby boy than anything else. John Grant Hunter was born Jan. 22, 2009, weighing in at 7 pounds and measuring 20 inches. Grandparents Kitt and Rita McCone of Chapel Hill, Jimmy Hunter and Peggy Hunter, both of Lewisburg, and great-grandmother, Roberta Owens of Chapel Hill, may all be doing the same thing. Grant, you won't have any problem getting enough attention - you were born into a family full of love.
Congratulations to all.
Senior Night for the Rockets basketball teams, managers and cheerleaders was Tuesday night. The seniors and their parents were recognized at the game. I missed it all, but I want to congratulate everyone.
The Rockets will travel to Murfreesboro Friday, Jan. 30, for their games with MTCS, starting at 6 p.m.; Tuesday, Feb. 3, will take them to FC Boyd for games beginning at 6 p.m.
Our Rocket wrestlers will travel for their matches Tuesday, Feb. 3, with Hillwood, Henderson, and MLK. Starting time for them is 5 p.m.
Have a wonderful week.
