The Forrest Lady Rockets, coming off their district clinching win over MTCS Friday night did not suffer any letdown in Spencer Tuesday night, blasting the F. C. Boyd Lady Broncos 79-41.
Forrest led from start to finish with 13 players getting into the scoring column.
Megan Porter was the leading scorer with 14 points, Summer Waggoner (13), Thea Ledbetter (12), Christina Curtner (9), Randi Tombs (7), Taylour Allen and Haley Mathis (5), Megan Miller (4), Bequi Bussell and Lorrie Logue (3), Hannah Ledbetter (2), and Amanda Daughrity and Canaan Rains (1).
The number four ranked Lady Rockets (21-3, 11-1) have lost just two district games in three years.
Forrest finishes up the season with road games at Richland (9-12) tonight and a big state tournament tune-up battle at Collinwood (13-7) on Monday night.
The Forrest Rockets are hoping to redeem some tough losses this season once the District 9-A tournament begins at Eagleville on Feb. 16.
On Tuesday night at Boyd Christian, the Rockets took a twelve point victory over the Broncos.
FHS led 21-18 at the half in Spencer and then turned up the heat, outscoring Boyd 37-28 in the second half.
Colin Henson led the Rockets in scoring with 17, Ferris Perkins had 16, Seth Brothers (12), Kyle Anglin and Kyle Griffy (5), and Kyle Gugger scored 3.
Forrest (10-14, 6-6) is tied with MTCS (12-14, 6-6) for fourth place in the district standings.
