The Bulldogs jumped out to a 9-2 lead in a low scoring first period and held the Hornets in check in the second quarter to lead 20-9 at the half.
Cornersville outscored the Hornets 11-10 in the third period and held onto the lead throughout the fourth quarter even though they were outscored by Huntland 21-20 in the final eight minutes.
The Bulldogs only had four players in the scoring column with Brent Pope leading the way with 16 points. Josh Pope was next with 13 points, including three treys. Garrett Stiles scored 12 in the contest and Joseph Darnell finished with 10.
The Bulldogs (14-13) face an even bigger task when they take on the number four ranked Culleoka Warriors (26-2) tonight at 7:30 at Richland.
In the two meetings between the Cornersville and Culleoka this season, the Warriors have outscored the Bulldogs 98-42.
