James Landis Russell
Mr. James Landis Russell, Sr., 78, of Lewisburg, owner of Russell Vending and Catering, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 in Maury Regional Hospital.
He was a native of Davidson County, Tennessee and son of the late Paschal and Charles Jewell Cothern Russell. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of East Commerce Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Jones Russell, son, James "Bubba" Russell, Jr., two daughters, Lynn Stocstill and Donna Kay Gowan all of Lewisburg. Twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren, also, survive.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Feb. 26 from East Commerce Baptist Church with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ed Meadows, 63, of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, in Nashville, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Meadows was a native of Jackson County, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Vaughn Meadows; son, Glenn Meadows; and brother, Tony Meadows.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Garland and Virginia Meadows of Gallatin; wife of 35 years, Brenda K. Meadows, and daughter, Samantha (Toepop) Bruce, all of Chapel Hill; son, Gary Meadows of La Vergne; brothers, Steve (Barbara) Meadows of Mt. Juliet, Dan Meadows of Lebanon, and Tim Meadows of Gallatin; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 26.
