"I think this was the best all-around game we played all season," said Forrest head coach Jeremy Jean. "It's a great win for us. One of the goals we set this season was to reach and win the region championship. All these kids have done it before, they have seen it before, and they always turn it up another gear in big games."
The Lady Rockets arrived at the Eagleville gym, just before halftime and watched as the MTCS Lady Cougars blew an 11-point second half lead and were eliminated by McEwen. Before their game started, word game via the text world that that the Tigerettes had suffered the same fate versus Hume-Fogg over at Spring Hill. The news was eye opening and it seemed to get the Lady Rockets re-focused and ready for the Viqueens.
Beth Hawn skied for the opening tip, re-directing the basketball to Bequi Bussell, who found Summer Waggoner streaking to the basket where she laid it in off the glass and was fouled. Waggoner converted the three-point play and Forrest was off and running.
