This is the last weekend for Girl Scout cookie booth sales. They will be sold from 3 to 5:30 p.m. today and all day Saturday at the Lewisburg Wal-Mart. Box donations can also be made to the Gift of Caring program.

Blood pressure screenings will be held at the Marshall County Senior Citizens center at 11 a.m. on March 9, 11, 18, 20 and 25.

There will be a revival at Caney Springs Pentecostal Holiness Assembly this weekend (March 6 at 7 p.m., March 7 at 6 p.m. and March 8 at 10 a.m.) The preacher will Terry Golden.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Quality Assurance Review (QAR) Team will be in Marshall County Monday, March 9, through Wednesday, March 11, to visit schools, interview school system employees and stakeholders, and talk with students as part of the SACS Accreditation process.

Team members will meet with School Board members on March 9 at 11 a.m. and on March 11 between 8 and 10 a.m. A special called meeting of the Board of Education will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the Central Office, 700 Jones Circle, Lewisburg, for the SACS QAR Team to present their oral exit report.


Elder Eddie Shirley and Sister Deborah Ogilvie Shirley celebrate 13 years as the pastor and first lady of the Liggett Street Church of God, Lewisburg. Celebration is at 11 a.m., Sunday, March 8. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m.
