A Cornersville woman who escaped from the Buffalo Valley treatment center in Lewisburg was recaptured Wednesday in Cornersville, according to the arshall County Sheriff's Department.
Bethany Brashears, 29, 107 Coleman Road, Cornersville had been arrested on a charge of fraudulent use of a credit card, Sheriff's Detective Capt. Norman Dalton said Thursday. Sessions Court Judge Steve Bowden ruled that she should be confined in a drug rehabilitation facility for 30 days.
However, Brashears left the treatment center after being at the house for two days and that constitutes jail escape, Dalton said. She'd been gone for approximately a week but was apprehended Wednesday night. She is back in the Marshall County Jail being held on an escape charge.
"Cornersville Police spotted her and brought her in," Dalton said. Brashears just "walked away" from the Buffalo Valley facility.
Jail escape is a felony punishable by more than a year in jail.
