Brentwood arrests Cornersville-area man on truck theft charge
BRENTWOOD - A Marshall County man was arrested by Brentwood Police on Monday when he was charged with theft and booked into the Williamson County Jail.
Tony Joe Poarch, 27, of 2265 Poarch Hollow Road just northwest of Cornersville, was arrested by Brentwood Officer Josh Wickwire who charged Poarch with theft of property over $10,000, according to Williamson County Jail records.
Lincoln County Sheriff's Detective James Owen said on Tuesday that Poarch was apprehended in Brentwood where a 2006 Dodge 3500 four-door truck valued at $50,000 was recovered.
The truck and about $6,500 worth of tools were reported stolen from Joshua Ogle, one the biggest property owners and farmers in Lincoln County, Owen said. Ogle's crops and cattle are east of Fayetteville in the Elora area.
Brentwood Police "got a report of a burglary in progress and they went out and saw the truck and apprehended him," Owen said.
The truck was revealed as reported stolen when police checked records with the National Crime Information Center.
"He admitted to them that he took the truck, but he's being brought down here," Owen said. "I want him to admit it to me."
Williamson County Jail records show that Poarch is scheduled for a court hearing on April 23.
