Kindergarten registration for the 2009-2010 school year in the Marshall County School System will be held Monday, May 11. Lewisburg students who plan to attend Oak Grove, Westhills, or Marshall Elementary will register at the Marshall County Board of Education at 700 Jones Circle in Lewisburg from 1 to 3 p.m. Cornersville students will register at Cornersville Elementary School and Chapel Hill students will register at Chapel Hill Elementary School between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. Parents should bring the following documents to registration with them: immunization record, birth certificate (official copy; not mother's copy), child's social security card, current physical examination, and proof of Marshall County residency

The Rock Creek Bible Society will hold its 195th consecutive meeting, starting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Bethbirei Presbyterian Church. The preacher will be Jeff Eason; music will be provided by Alva Cavnar; and a potluck lunch will be served.

The Marshall County Solid Waste Committee will meet and host an open house at 9 a.m. Monday, May 11, at the Solid Waste Office, 230 College Street, Suite 160, Lewisburg. The purpose of the meeting will be to celebrate the success of the city's curbside recycling program, to tour the recycling facility, and to inspect the new baler and sort line.
