We may never see the likes of them again

Monday, May 4, 2009

MCHS head coach Boyd West said about his five graduating seniors, "I think those five players may go down as one of the best classes ever at MCHS."
One state title in 2008, a runner-up finish in 2007, an undefeated regular season in 2009, an incredible overall 87-15 record over a four year span, and more big wins in big games than is even imaginable.

Those are just the numbers that will forever remain with the five graduating seniors from the 2008-2009 Marshall County High School Tigerette basketball team.

There is more, much more to these five young ladies, there always has been.

Lauren March, Jakerra Simmons, NeNe McLean, Addricka O'Neal, and Andraya Tears symbolize more than wins and losses.

The five-some represent all that is good with sports and together will remain forever in time as one of the best teams in the history of Marshall County sports.

"I think those five players may go down as one of the best classes ever at MCHS," said Tigerette head coach Boyd West.

West added, "In my twenty-five years of coaching I don't think I have ever seen or been around five players that have done more for their school or for their community then these five seniors."
