Allyson Van Hooser of Lewisburg was awarded the Donald K. Carson Leadership Scholarship during a recent Honors Assembly hosted by the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa at the University of Memphis.
Named for a former vice president of student affairs at the U of M, the scholarship is presented to student leaders who demonstrate a strong capacity for leadership and foster opportunities for the growth and development of other people through their leadership.
The Lewisburg Parks & Recreation Department is hosting the Ming and Roger Brown Memorial Tennis Tournament Memorial Day weekend at the Lewisburg Recreation Center.
