Marshall County Memorial Library is having its Summer Reading Program this summer. It begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, and runs every Thursday through July 16.

The Lewisburg Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring a Mini Cheer Camp for 4- to 10-year-olds, from June 22 through 25, at the Rec Center gym. For more information, or to register, call Jane Tilford at 359-2482.

The Marshall County Budget Committee will be meeting on Thursdays from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the following dates to start the budget process: June 4, June 11, and June 18. The meetings will be held in Room 2212 of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg.

The Solid Waste Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 1, in Room 2212 of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg.

Marshall County Emergency Medical Services Committee will be meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, June 1, at 728 South Ellington Parkway, Lewisburg.

The Industrial Development Board of the City of Lewisburg will hold their regular scheduled monthly meeting on noon Monday, June 1, at Lewisburg City Hall, 131 East Church Street.

The Marshall County School System will hold new student registration from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 2. This is for students who were not enrolled in Marshall County Schools last year. Students who are transferring from Lewisburg to Cornersville or Chapel Hill, or the opposite, will also need to register. The Marshall County Animal Control Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at in Room 2212 of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg, to review the 2009-2010 budget.

The Dixie Theatre will host an A cappella group from Illinois called BLEND at 7 p.m. Friday, June 5. Tickets may be purchased one hour before the show at the theatre, or reserve tickets by calling Faris at 359-6454. The show is a benefit for the Dixie as proceeds will be split 50/50. BLEND is a show for everyone, bringing back all those great memories of the '50s and '60s with a twist of fun. The Platters, Bill Haley's Comets, The VanDells, and The Drifters are only a few of the groups whose songs will be performed.

In conjunction with the TWRA's free fishing day throughout the state, the Lewisburg Parks & Recreation Department will host a free lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the shelter at Lewisburg Lake (formerly New Lake). The city will be releasing tagged fish worth $20 in prize money if caught. Doug Lowery of the TWRA will be at the shelter from 8 a.m. to noon. A blood drive will be held from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 8, at Chapel United Methodist Church on North Horton Parkway.

AARP # 5249 will meet for their Annual Picnic at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 8, in the Church Parlor of First United Methodist Church, Lewisburg. Women will furnish the drinks and food, the men will furnish the meat. Entertainment will be provided by "Boys from Down the Road".

The June CHYFL board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at the Chapel Hill Fire Hall. This meeting is open to the public.
