Margie Sharp Lewis

Margie Sharp Lewis, 56, formerly of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at her residence in Memphis.

Mrs. Lewis was a native of Marshall County, who graduated from Marshall County High School in 1971. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Clebert Sharp and Nannie Brady Sharp, and her brothers, George Clebert Sharp Jr., Wesley Calvin Sharp, Briley Sharp, Tommy Sharp, and Jimmy Sharp.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Lewis of Memphis; siblings, Sally Libbs, Becky Johnsey, Jacky Sharp, Cleo Sharp, and Ronnie Sharp, all of Lewisburg; and special friends, Billie Trusty, and Tina and Timmy Horton, all of Memphis.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis were conducted Saturday, May 30, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Thomas B. Sumners officiating, followed by burial in Short Cemetery in the Spring Place Community.

Larry Lee Hopper

Larry Lee Hopper, 60,of Lewisburg, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Hopper was a native of Giles County and was a veteran of the armed forces. He was a retired employee of Mead Containers and an employee at Nichirin Corporation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie Hopper and Lavenia Hobbs Hopper.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Mary Evelyn Hopper; children, John Frank Hopper of Columbia, and William Edward Hopper and Adrienne Lee Hopper, both of Lewisburg; brother, William Earl Hopper of Lewisburg; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was on Tuesday, June 2, followed by private inurnment services in Lone Oak Cemetery with Thomas B. Sumners officiating.

Verena A. Walker

Verena A. Walker, 55, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Marshall Medical center.

Mrs. Walker was a native of Orange County, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel B. Ward and Yvone Alama.

She is survived by her husband, Kim Lee Walker of Lewisburg; daughters, Michelle Hajj and Edna Milinkovich, both of California, Dorothy Milinkovich of Oregon, Frances Adams and Billie McCoy, both of Lewisburg, and Mindy Hill of Unionville; sons, Samuel Milinkovich of California, Joseph Milinkovich of Alabama, and Alan Ward of Lewisburg; brothers; Nathaniel B. Ward Jr. of Pleasant View, Tenn. and Robert Alama of Kentucky; sisters, Nanda Alama-Fields of Kingsport, Tenn. and Kahaw Alama of California; and 27 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Walker were conducted Monday, June 1, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Winson Wagoner and Joseph Milinkovich officiating, followed by burial in Round Hill Cemetery in the Belfast Community.

Mattie Pearl Campbell

Mattie Pearl Campbell, 63, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of the Second Avenue Church of Christ and had been employed by Cosmolab, McDonald's and Faber-Castell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lou Emma Hardin; brothers, James Hardin, Bedford Hardin, Bobby Hardin and Marvin Hardin; and sisters Sallie Lou Hardin-Gentry and Emma Reovan.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Campbell of Lewisburg; sisters, Irsish Dean-Hardin; Katherine Hardin-Mayes, Nettie Hardin-Harris, all of Lewisburg and Jennie Hardin-Mayes of Wichita; brothers, H. Hardin of Dallas and Robert Hardin of Lewisburg.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 30, at the Second Avenue Church of Christ, followed by burial at Alsup Cemetery.

J.B. Mayberry and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Frances Chilton

Mary Frances Chilton, 75, of Lewisburg died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at her residence.

Miss Chilton was a native of Marshall County. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmette and Mamie Brewer Chilton, and sisters, Dorothy Whitehead and Kareen Shirley. She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Whorley Cemetery.

London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bernard Lawrence Widick

Bernard Lawrence "Larry" Widick, 85, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, in NHC Lewisburg.

Mr. Widick was a native of Cross Plains. He was the manager of Dixie Foods in Lewisburg for 12 years and retired from Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Westvue Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther M. and Annie Hodiern Widick, and brothers, Francis Widick, James Widick, Bruce Widick, and Jackie Widick.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Alice Edwards Widick of Lewisburg; daughter, Denise Greson of Greenbrier; brothers, Derrick Widick, Christopher Widick, and William Widick, all of Nashville, and Richard Widick of Tuscalum, Ala.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Lone Oak Cemetery.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Wednesday until the funeral hour for visitation.
