The Farmers Market will be open on Friday, June 19, and Friday, June 26, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a few vendors.

The Lewisburg Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring a Mini Cheer Camp for 4- to 10-year-olds, from June 22 through 25, at the Rec Center gym. For more information, or to register, call Jane Tilford at 359-2482.

The Marshall County School System will hold new student registration on Tuesday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is for students who were not enrolled in Marshall County schools last year. Kindergarten through sixth grade students who will attend a Lewisburg school will register at the Central Office, 700 Jones Circle, Lewisburg; all others will register at their respective schools. Students who are transferring from Lewisburg to Cornersville or Chapel Hill or the opposite will also need to register. If you have questions, contact the Central Office at 359-1581 or the school.

Nominations started Monday, June 15, for the Farm Service Agency Committee serving Lewisburg, Berlin, Verona and Mooresville. Candidates must: participate or cooperate in an FSA program, be a county resident, and live in the area where they're a candidate. Candidates must sign nomination form FSA-669A. It and other information on these elections are on the web at Nominations must be postmarked or received at the USDA Service Center by the close of business Monday, Aug. 3.


The Town of Chapel Hill Beer Board will hold a special called meeting at 10 a.m. Friday, June 19, to consider an application for a package beer permit.

The Marshall County Senior Citizens Covered Dish Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 19.
