Robert E. "Bob" Plemons, 67, of Cleveland, Tenn., formerly of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009.
Mr. Plemons was a member of Maple Street Baptist Church and was very involved with his church and family. He also volunteered at Signature Care in Cleveland and was a retailer, and also a veteran of the U. S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pless C. Plemons Sr. and Amy Alene Moore Plemons; sister, Virginia Plemons Haynie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Lou Ogle; and brother-in-law, Mathew Barbiasz.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Jean Ogle Plemons of Cleveland; children, Amy (Chris) Claxton of Maryville and Ike (Amy) Plemons of Cleveland; siblings, Ann Jett and Clifford (Jo) Plemons, all of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Alice Sue Barbiasz of Ware, Mass.; special adopted daughter, Karen Eastep of Maryville; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, June 21, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastors Joe Brooks and Chris Seiber officiating. Graveside services with military honors were held Monday, June 22, in the U.S. National Cemetery in Chattanooga.
