Obituary: Bobby Mayfield

Bobby "Copperhead" Mayfield, 62, of Chapel Hill, died Saturday, June 27, 2009.

Mr. Mayfield was a native of Williamson County and for many years was a resident of the Rudderville Community. He was a veteran of the Air Force and was a self-employed carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Cassity and Virginia Elizabeth Ladd Mayfield.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Mayfield of Chapel Hill; daughters, Robbie Mayfield-Ambrose of College Grove, Cindy Lynn Burkett of Chapel Hill, and Beth Wallace of Enid, Okla.; sister, Linda King of College Grove; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mr. Mayfield was conducted on Tuesday, June 30, in the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home.
