Obituary: R. E. Woodward

R.E. "Edd" Woodward Jr., 84, of the Farmington Community, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, in NHC Lewisburg.

Mr. Woodward was a native of Marshall County. He was a farmer and member of the Farmington Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edward Woodward Sr. and Annie Ruth Cathey Woodward; three-year-old children, Julia Ann Woodward and Tommy Knox Woodward; and sisters, Christine Loggins and Annie Frances Collins Ownby.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Dean Willis Woodward of Farmington; sons, R.E. Woodward III of Lewisburg and W.D. Woodward of Murfreesboro; and three grandchildren, Stacie, Lauren, and Kristin Woodward.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 18, from the chapel of London Funeral Home with Corey Barnette officiating, followed by burial in Head Springs Cemetery.

The pallbearers were elders and deacons of Farmington Church of Christ, Bill Richter, Richard Kee, David Phillips, Mike Barron, Andy Carter, Andy Davis, A.V. Looney, Henry Horton and Valton Crabtree.
