William "Bill" K. Weber, age 65, of 1242 Wheatland Ave., Lancaster, Pa., formerly of Paducah, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Hospice of Lancaster County in Mount Joy, Pa.
Born in Kingsville, Texas, he was the son of the late Kossuth C. and Betty Smith Weber. He and his wife, Melinda Gates Weber, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last July 27th.
Bill was a 1966 graduate of Rhodes College, Memphis, Tenn., and a 1973 graduate of the University of Tennessee Law School.
He retired in 2000 as a Labor Relations and Benefits Plans Manager for the United States Energy Corporation in Paducah, Ky., with whom he had been employed for 36 years.
Bill served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, obtaining the rank of Captain.
He was a member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ where he served as a former deacon.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Robert K. Weber, husband of Amy Weber, Lancaster, Pa.; daughter, Mary Ellen Weber, wife of Bryan Starmer, Knoxville, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Lily Anna Starmer and Leonie Weber; three brothers, Charles, husband of Lori Weber, and Cayce Weber, both of Taos, N.M.; and Taylor, husband of Barbara Weber, Littleton, Colo.
Mr. Weber's graveside service and interment will be held at Lone Oak Cemetery, Lewisburg, at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 25, with Mr. Clay Derryberry officiating. The family will gather before the service at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home at 4:30 p.m.
