A Work Ethic Training Course, taught by Betsye Ledford of Ledford Employee Exchange, is being offered as a part of Ratchet Up Marshall County, sponsored by South Central Tennessee Workforce Board. This four-hour course will cover work ethic in the workplace. Employers can have employees sign up for the course and need only to pay the employees for the four-hour class in order to meet the match of the Ratchet Up grant funding. Space is still available for Aug. 12 and 19 at Lewisburg Printing and for Aug. 26 at CSCC-Lewisburg. Space is limited, so register early. Due to budget issues, the Marshall County Memorial Library has adjusted its hours of operation from July 6 to Aug. 8. The hours will be Monday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The computer room will shut down 15 minutes before closing. Hours will be changed, effective Monday, Aug. 10, to accommodate students by being open three nights a week until 7 p.m. However, those exact hours will be announced the week of Aug. 3.

Parents who reside in Marshall County and are planning to home school their children for the 2009-2010 school year need to register with the social workers at the Marshall County Board of Education between Aug. 6 and 24, at the Central Office, 700 Jones Circle, Lewisburg.

The Junior Auxiliary of Lewisburg will be holding its second annual "Stuff that Bus." They will be collecting donations of school supplies for underprivileged children at Wal-Mart from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, and from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6.
