49th Annual Belfast Lions Club Horse Show Friday Night

The last weekend of July all roads in the Walking Horse world lead to the tiny hamlet of Belfast, Tenn.

The Belfast Lions Club 49th Annual Walking Horse Show will take place Friday night, July 31, beginning at 7 p.m. at the S. W. Beech Memorial Field.

Over $3,000 in prize money will be given to the winners in 20 classes. The RidersCup Walking Horse Stake will have prize money of $700, with $250 to the winner.

The judge for the show will be Mickey McCormick of Shelbyville. Master of Ceremonies will be Bobby Sands of Columbia, and Ringmaster will be Jeremy Wilhelm. Show manager is Thomas "Bubba" Crockett, and show secretary is Nancy Lynn Beech Greene.

Come eat supper at the concession stand and enjoy some of the best Walking Horses to be seen before the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration competition next month.

On Saturday night, the 103rd Annual Wartrace Horse Show will take place at Wartrace, Tenn., the "Cradle of the Walking Horse."
