Obituary: Shirley Buford Hazlett

Mr. Shirley Buford Hazlett, age 70 of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in NHC Oakwood Healthcare.

Mr. Hazlett was a native of Marshall County, Tennessee and son of the late Arthur and Sara Rebecca Williams Hazlett. He was retired from Heil-Quaker Corporation and was a member of Westvue Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Hazlett, and two sisters, Arlene Poarch & Wilby Lee Hazlett. He is survived by his wife, Jean Dodson Hazlett of Lewisburg, daughter, Donna Hazlett of Culleoka, three sons, David Hazlett of Petersburg and Daniel Hazlett, and Ronnie Dalton all of Lewisburg, sister, Myrtle Stinnett of Lewisburg, four grandchildren, Matthew & Jacob Hazlett, Amy Kenny and Neil Dalton, and special friend, Ray Ledbetter.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 30, 2009, from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bryant Cemetery.

The preacher was David Cook. Pallbearers were Neil Dalton, George Hazlett Sr., Pete Griffin, Forrest Brown, Jeff Anderson, Robert Hale. Honorary pallbearers were former Dolphin football players and Heil-Quaker employees.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marshall County Youth Football.
