Obituary: Rose Sims

Rose Sims, a beloved mother, daughter, and sister went to the great heavens on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 after a short battle with colon cancer.

Rose was born April 21, 1959 in Shreveport, La. After raising her family, Rose obtained her LVN degree and continued to expand her skills and knowledge until cancer finally ended her pursuits. Rose and her fiancÚ, Dr. Wiman, worked together at North Texas State Hospital, Vernon, Tx. in the forensic unit. Though the work was hard and sometimes dangerous, Rose enjoyed her patients. She received many awards on her unit, and was selected as one of the Outstanding Women of America. Rose spent many years helping others; however, nothing ever took the place of her family, fiancÚ, and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors: FiancÚ, Dr. David Wiman of Vernon, Tx.; daughter, Angelia Dickens of Vernon, Tx.; three grandchildren; mother, Bessie Coulson of Nampa, Id.; father, Thomas Bell of Nahunta, Ga.; sisters, Carol Cooper and Joy Smith of Nampa, Id., and Judy Fruge of Benbrook, Tx.; brother, Walter Bell of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; seven nieces; 6 nephews; 6 great-nieces; and ten great-nephews.
