Raymond "Ray" Kohler Bills, 82, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Bills was a native of Marshall County. He served his country in the Air Force during World War II. He was retired from the Marshall County Highway Department and formerly served as an elder in the Hardin Chapel Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audie and Irene Taylor Bills, and his brothers, Billy and Charlie Bills.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elaine Looney Bills of Lewisburg; daughters, Kathie (Fred) Porter of Columbia, Betty (David) Hay of Eagleville, and Emily (Andy) White of Mount Juliet; son, Edwin (Karen) Bills of Knoxville; brothers, James (Lillian) Bills and Tom (June) Bills, both of Columbia, Joe (Josephine) Bills of Murfreesboro, and Benny (Doris) Bills of Gallatin; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 11, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Collins Cemetery.
