Velma Gordon, 95, of Milligan, Fla., died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Gordon was a native of Pollard, Ala. She was a school lunchroom supervisor and manger for more than 23 years and was a member of the Milligan Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Martha Garrett; husband, Thomas N. Gordon; daughter, Sarah Gordon; and granddaughter, Sherry Gordon Everett.
She is survived by her five sons, Jerry (Emily) Gordon of Lewisburg, Thomas L. (Virginia) Gordon of Gainesville, Fla., Bobby (Joyce) Gordon of Milton, Fla., Terry (Jody) Gordon of Holt, Fla., and David Gordon of Milligan, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Milligan Baptist Church, followed by burial in Milligan Baptist Church Cemetery.
