Obituary: Laurene Phifer Chapman

Laurene Phifer Chapman, 92, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at her residence.

Mrs. Chapman was a native of Marshall County. She was a homemaker and member of the Farmington Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ozella Crabtree Adams; first husband, Kenny Phifer; second husband, Thurman Chapman; daughter, Betty Jean Webb; two sisters, Ethel Roberts and Bernice Davis; and three brothers, Solon Adams, Jimmy L. Adams, and Clarence Adams.

She is survived by one son, Denver "Buddy" Phifer of Lewisburg; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 22, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Berea Cemetery.
