Floyd Woods, 69, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, at NHC Lewisburg.
Mr. Woods was baptized as a child and later became a member of Second Avenue Church of Christ. He was employed as a head chef until his retirement and loved to cook for friends and family, or anyone in need, until his health failed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Annie Woods; biological father, Floyd L. Tidwell; and son, Patrick J. Woods.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Woods of Lewisburg; daughters, Dana Woods and Jackie Woods, both of Nashville, and Monika Whitley of Memphis; children by marriage, Raymond Kelso, Ivan Kelso, Patrease Eddins, and Christopher Kelso; sister, Patsy Hightower of Omaha, Neb.; brothers, James Tidwell and Darnell Woods, both of Lewisburg; five grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and his church family.
The viewing will be from noon until 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, at Second Avenue Church of Christ, Lewisburg.
