Obituary: James Welton Price

James Welton Price, 84, of Cornersville, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Price was a native of Marshall County. He served his country in the

Army during World War II. He retired from the postal service after 30 years as the Cornersville Postmaster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Franklin and Tishie Mai Luker Price, and sister, Bessie Carrigan.

He is survived by his wife, Melba Inez Davis Price of Cornersville; daughters, Brenda Miller of Murfreesboro and Sharon (Mark) Byrd of Shelbyville; sisters, Margaret Little of Montgomery, Ala. and Genell Price of Nashville; two grandchildren, April Love Hagar and Adam Miller; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 15, from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with Charles Hardison officiating, followed by burial in New Hope Cemetery at Ostella.

The pallbearers were Adam Miller, Troy Hagar, Mark Byrd, Thurman Davis, Marlin Finley, and J. Wes Green.
