Sept. 23

The regular monthly meeting of the Marshall County Board of Education has been rescheduled to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Central Office, 700 Jones Circle, Lewisburg.

The Marshall County Senior Citizens Board of Directors will meet at noon Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the Center classroom at Hardison Office Annex, 230 College St., Lewisburg.


The annual 4H Poultry Show and Sale will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Expo Center on Robin Hood Road, Lewisburg. All proceeds from the sale go directly to 4H members.

The Marshall County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a workshop entitled "Small Business Survival in Tough Economic Times" at noon Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Lewisburg Gas Department. Call the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce at 359-3863 to reserve your seat.

The Marshall County Child Development Center will hold a skate night at the We Skate Center, 1635 New Columbia Hwy, from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. Half the evening's proceeds will go toward the center.

The Lone Oak Cemetery Advisory Board will hold a meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at Lewisburg City Hall, 131 East Church Street.

The Pregnancy Resource Center is holding a dinner at the Lewisburg Recreation Center on Thursday, Sept. 24, starting at 6:15 p.m. For more information, call Shirley Lowe at 359-2304.


Hickory Heights Church of Christ, 866 E. Commerce, will be holding a Gospel Meeting from Sept. 25 to 27. Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 3 and 4 p.m. Matt Foster is the speaker.

The Grief Support Group will have a potluck meeting at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Westvue Church of Christ. Charles Hardison will be the speaker.

The congregation of East Commerce Baptist Church will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the church during the 11:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Sept.27, followed by a potluck meal. Dr. F. The South Marshall Volunteer Fire Department will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, to discuss plans and elect officers. Everyone in the area is invited.

The Marshall County Senior Center will hold blood pressure screenings on Sept. 29 at 11 a.m.

The Lewisburg Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will hold their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the George W. Turner Building, 741 Silver Street.

The Community Development Board of the City of Lewisburg will hold their regular monthly meeting at noon Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the City Hall, 131 East Church St.


There will be a flag dedication ceremony on September 30, 2009 at 9:00 am at the North EMS Station for the Woodsmen of the World. All are invited to come.

AARP, assisted by the local police department, will be collecting expired medicines during Octoberfest. Bring out-dated medicines to their booth on Lewisburg's Public Square for safe disposal.

The Tiger Breakfast Club of Marshall County High School will meet from 7 to 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 5, at Russell's Catering on Water Street. The "Dutch Treat" breakfast is to accent those who graduated in the 1970s, but all are welcome.
