Janie Louise Fisher Smithson, 73, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center.
Mrs. Smithson was a native of Bedford County. She was a veteran of the Navy and retired from Bell South. She also held membership in the Town and Country Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an active member of First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Timothy Lee Jorgenson and James Robert Jorgenson; brother, James Fisher; and sister, Lucille Blessing.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Albert Lee Smithson of Shelbyville; sons, Cliffton Gene Jorgenson of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and David Michael (Kat) Jorgenson of Tullahoma; daughter, Kathy Lynn (Johnny) Reed of Shelbyville; brother, Robert Fisher; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Oct. 4, at First Christian Church in Shelbyville with Reverend Bryan Elliott officiating, followed by burial in Willow Mount Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church Building Fund.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
