The Young Farmers and Ranchers of Marshall County will have a Haunted Woods every Friday and Saturday night in October from 7 until 11 p.m. at the Strasser Farm, 1.5 miles east of the Chapel Hill Post Office. The Marshall County Memorial Library will resume its 55-hour schedule beginning Monday, Oct. 12: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


The Marshall County Emergency Communications District Board of Directors will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the operations center, in the Hardison Office Annex, 230 College St., Lewisburg.


The Cornersville Action Team will host Fall Festival from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Cornersville Elementary School. There will be games, food, a silent auction, baked goods and a cakewalk. All proceeds go to the Cornersville Action Team.

The Lone Oak Cemetery Advisory Board will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Lewisburg City Hall, 131 East Church Street.

The Chapel Hill Town Hall will be closed on Friday, Oct. 23, due to moving to the temporary location at 120 North Horton Parkway. The office will reopen at the new location on Monday, Oct. 26.


There will be an ICP/Heil Quaker Reunion from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Belfast Lions Club. There will be live music, door prizes, and a Memory Board for workers who have passed away since the plant closed. Bring a covered dish; drinks will be furnished. There will be a benefit for Junior's House Child Advocacy Center at Boonshill Community Center on Saturday, Oct. 24, starting with a fish and chicken supper at 5 p.m., and continuing with a silent auction, and "Boonshill Grand Ole Opry" at 7 p.m.

The Lord's House of Prayer, 1205 Nashville Hwy, Lewisburg, will hold a benefit singing and food auction at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Featured group will be The Followers from Chapel Hill.

Christian comedian Jimmie Fitzgerald will perform at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at the Lewisburg Recreation Center to conclude the St. James Revival. Only 300 tickets are available.

The Police Advisory Board will hold a special call meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at the Lewisburg Police Department, 101 Water St., to discuss board procedures.

There will be a Special Called Meeting of the Marshall County Board of Education at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Central Office, 700 Jones Circle, Lewisburg. The Special Called Meeting will be immediately followed by a Work Session of the Board.

The Marshall County Historical Society will hold its quarterly meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at the museum in the Hardison Office Annex, 230 College St, Lewisburg. The public is invited.
