Forrest and Cornersville have both made the TSSAA state football playoffs.
Forrest (9-1) will host a first-round game Friday night against Marion County (6-4). The winner will play the quadrant's No. 1 seed, Boyd-Buchanan (8-1), on Nov. 13.
In an odd twist of the TSSAA playoff bracket, Cornersville -- the quadrant's No. 6 seed -- will play third-seeded Perry County for the second consecutive week. This time the game will be in Linden.
The Bulldogs (5-5) beat Perry County (6-4) 21-20 in Frog Bottom in the postseason clincher Friday night. The victor must play unbeaten Jo Byrns Nov. 13.
Cornersville's quadrant also features the state's only other 1A unbeaten, Wayne County. The Wildcats will host the winner of the Collinwood-at-McEwen game.
