Janet Cruce Yates, 70, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, in Nashville, after fighting a courageous battle against cancer.
Mrs. Yates was retired from operating preschools in Tallahassee, Fla. She was a Primitive Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuel Cruce Sr. and Nancy Phillips Cruce, and brother, Pete Cruce.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Yates of Hot Springs, Ark.; children, Yancy and Carey Yates of Lewisburg, and Rebecca Yates of Cornersville; brother, R. E. (Alverne) Cruce Jr. of Monticello, Ark.; sisters, Sarah (Wayne) Marcussen and Thelma Lovett, all of Benton, Ark. and Carolyn Cruce of Tallahassee, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Annie, of Cornersville.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Campground Methodist Church, followed by burial in Campground Cemetery.
Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
