Didn't we just celebrate Halloween? And we're already into the second week of November. I think we're all trying to prepare for Thanksgiving before we jump into Christmas.
Wednesday was Veterans Day. I know I'm a little late with the news. I hope you were able to attend the Veterans Day Memorial celebration at the Larry Lewter Memorial Park in Chapel Hill. If you were not able to go, I hope you took time to remember the ones who defended our county in the past, as well as those who are presently doing so. They deserve our thanks and respect everyday.
The Chapel Hill United Methodist Women are hosting their annual "A Taste of This and That" Saturday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Family Life Center. If you have attended this event before, you know you'll find some delicious food, and it's hard to take only a "taste."

The Turkey Supper has been a tradition in Chapel Hill for a "long" time, and I hope it continues for anouther "long" time! Don't forget the Silent Auction while you're there.
