Edwin Francis Turner Jr., 71, died on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at his residence in Murfreesboro, following an extended illness.
Mr. Turner was a native of Detroit, Mich. As an electrical engineer for General Motors, he moved to the Lewisburg area as a member of the start-up team for the Saturn plant in Spring Hill. He was an accomplished woodworker, and an avid runner, who designed the Fitness Trail at the Saturn plant.
He was preceded in death by parents, Edwin Francis Turner Sr. and Catherine Barbara Kansy Turner.
He is survived and sadly missed by wife, Patricia Badacour Turner of Murfreesboro; brother, Robert "Tony" Turner of Hillsboro, Texas; children, Katrina Singh of Richmond, Va., Kim Higgs of Independence, Miss., Kathy Harwell of Shelbyville, Kristi Richardson of Belfast, and Kevin Turner of Lewisburg; stepchildren, Tracey Bratcher, Tonia Pass, and Torrance Helms, all of Murfreesboro; 16 grandchildren; and dear friends.
