Signups for Marshall County Youth Baseball and Softball will be held each Saturday in January. They will be held in Lewisburg, Cornersville and Chapel Hill. More information will be released later.
American Legion Post 39 will be distributing fruit/food baskets to shut-in veterans during the holiday season. If you know a homebound veteran that you would like to nominate to receive one of these baskets, please notify any member of the American Legion or leave a message at 359-7545. The Post will need to know the complete name and the address of the veteran in order to deliver the basket to them.
NHC HomeCare will be sponsoring "Santa for Seniors" this holiday season. Angel trees are located at Stylin' and Filin' on Cornersville Road and Hometown Grocery, South Ellington Pkwy. Items that are needed are listed on the back of the Angels and can be dropped off at NHC HomeCare Lewisburg, 493 Cornersville Rd. All donations need to be delivered by Monday, Dec. 14. NHC HomeCare is accepting donations of non-perishable food items for the 3rd Annual Canned Food Drive, and donations of old cell phones for the Cell Phones for Soldiers Drive sponsored by Lexy Franks and Erica Blackwell. Donations for both of these events may be left at the NHC HomeCare office at 493 Cornersville Rd, or at Cornersville Elementary School. the deadline for the donations is Dec. 14.
The Marshall County Recycling Convenience Centers will be open from 7 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 23, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 24, and will be closed on Dec. 25.

Mooresville Baptist Children's Choir invites you to join them while they interview people and ask them about their favorite Christmas memory or tradition -- where it took place, when it happened, and why it remains so special. The event is Sunday, Dec. 13, at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The choir will visit Tan N. Baum's Christmas Tree Farm which is sure to be a terrific place to gather stories from people coming to buy their Christmas trees.
