Paul Lehman Carnell, 89, of Culleoka, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Carnell was a native of Newbern, Tenn. He was a welder and electrician, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Local 697) of Hammond, Ind. Mr. Carnell enjoyed nature, and designed and made camping and boating equipment. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lora Mae Carnell; daughters, Rose Marie Carnell and Joyce Elaine Lusco; brother, J. R. Carnell; sister, Lurlene Lewellen; and grandchildren, Jessica Good and Brandon Mockabee.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lady Ruth Park Carnell; sons, Paul Lyndell Carnell of Chapel Hill and Ronald Dale Carnell of Wanatah, Ind.; daughters, Shirley Darlene Carnell of Mount Sterling, Ky., and Deborah Annette Evans and Jeanne Dianne Good, both of Culleoka; brothers, Edwin and Luther Carnell of Newbern; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Brothers Bob Rush and Aubrey Knois officiating, followed by burial in Friendship Cemetery, Culleoka.
The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from noon until the funeral hour for visitation.
