Eugene Pacetti, 75, of the Caney Spring Community of Marshall County, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, in Nashville.
Mr. Pacetti was a native of Barre, Vt. He was a former Jaycee, Moose Lodge member, Boy Scout Leader and basketball and baseball coach. Mr. Pacetti worked in the records and communications division for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C., and later was a guard at the Vermont State Prison. He then worked for many years at Dartmouth Woolen Mills and later retired from A.P.C. Paper Company, both in Claremont, N.H. After retirement, Mr. Pacetti moved to Tennessee where he became a published author and worked for 11 years as a teaching assistant in the Marshall County School System. He was also was the owner and operator of Mr. P's Variety Store in Lewisburg. Mr. Pacetti attended Chapel Hill Community Baptist Church and was a 2nd degree Knight in the Roman Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Nellie Batchelder Pacetti.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Frances Pacetti of Caney Spring; daughter, Karen LaPlante of Lewisburg; sons, Edward Michael Pacetti of Statesville, N.C. and David Pacetti of Claremont, N.H.; half-sister, Pattie Anderson of Burton, Vt; half-brother, Edmund Pacetti of South Barre, Vt.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 26, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Don McMurray and Rev. Keith Wilson officiating.
