The Marshall County Youth Baseball and Softball Registration will be held Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration will be held at Lewisburg Recreation Center, Chapel Hill High School old gym, Cornersville High School cafeteria, Marshall County Baseball Complex, or register online at www.mcybs.com.

Youth Villages offers free orientation sessions for people of all ages interested in learning more about becoming foster parents. Free orientation sessions are set for Jan. 6 at 4 p.m.; Jan. 11 at 11 a.m.; Jan. 14 at 4 p.m.; Jan. 22 at 3 p.m.; and Jan 26 at noon at the Youth Villages office in Columbia at 115 Dyer Street, Suite 1.

The Shelbyville Retired Telecom Pioneers will have a luncheon meeting at 11:30 Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Parkway Cafeteria (formerly Richard's) in Shelbyville. All telephone company retirees (AT&T, BellSouth, etc.) who live in the areas of Fayetteville, Lewisburg, Manchester, Shelbyville, Tullahoma and Winchester are invited.

The Town of Cornersville will hold its regular meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at City Hall. The meeting is open to the public and all citizens are welcome to attend.

The Airport Board of the City of Lewisburg will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Ellington Airport, 1877 Franklin Pike.

The Marshall County Education Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, in Room 2204 of the Courthouse Annex, Lewisburg.

Due to the forecast of snow, the Care Kitchen will not be held on Thursday, Jan. 7.

There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at NHC Oakwood, Lewisburg. Call Heather Clark at 359-3563 to schedule your appointment.

The Cornersville Athletic Booster Club will hold a meeting on Friday, Jan. 8, in the hospitality room at Cornersville High School Gym between the boys' and girls' basketball games. All members are urged to attend.

The Alzheimer's Association will hold a free Lunch and Learn for caregivers from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, in the gymnasium of the First Presbyterian Church, 101 Mulberry Avenue, Fayetteville. John Hill, attorney with Fraley & Hill, will speak on "Eldar Care Law." The meeting is free of charge and lunch is provided by the Lincoln County Advisory Committee. Anyone caring for someone affected by Alzheimer's or a related disease is encouraged to attend. Please RSVP by Wednesday, Jan. 6. The Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry Distribution is scheduled for Saturday Jan. 9. at the Borden Storage Building, 570 West Church Street, Lewisburg. Volunteers are asked to arrive around 8:30 a.m. and the truck should arrive at 9 a.m.

The Marshall County Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at the Central Office, 700 Jones Circle, Lewisburg.

The Executive Board Committee of the Marshall County Joint Economic and Community Development Board will meet at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, in conference room 118 at the Columbia State Community College Lewisburg site.

The Alzheimer's Association Marshall County Caregiver Support Group will meet at noon Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Senior Citizens Center, 230 College St., Lewisburg. Refreshments will be provided. The Town of Chapel Hill City Offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The office will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.

There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Church Street Church of Christ, 305 W. Church St., Lewisburg. In an effort to help provide a smooth flow of donors, the American Red Cross has provided a web site through which you can schedule a donation time.
