Lena Frances Chunn Potts, 91, of Nashville, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, in Nashville.
Mrs. Potts was a native of Williamson County. She served in the Women's Army Corp during World War II, serving as a Sergeant in Army Intelligence at Bradley Field, Conn. She and her husband also were stationed in Salzburg, Austria. After retirement from the Army, Mrs. Potts moved to Nashville where she was an employee of Cain Sloan Department Stores and also a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Ottie and Lena Victoria Butler Chunn; husband, Halbert Jesse Potts; sisters, Elma Chunn Compton and Pauline Chunn Smithson; and brothers, Albert Chunn and Ottie Chunn.
She is survived by her niece, Nell Frances Human of Hermitage, and nephews, Billy Smithson and Johnny Chunn, both of Chapel Hill, Nelson Chunn of Fayetteville and Johnny Compton of Allons, Tenn.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 3, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Youngman officiating, followed by burial in Middle View Cemetery near Chapel Hill.
