The Marshall County Youth Baseball and Softball Registration will be held Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration will be held at Lewisburg Recreation Center, Chapel Hill High School old gym, Cornersville High School cafeteria, Marshall County Baseball Complex; or register online at

Youth Villages offers free orientation sessions for people of all ages interested in learning more about becoming foster parents. Free orientation sessions are set for Jan. 11 at 11 a.m.; Jan. 14 at 4 p.m.; Jan. 22 at 3 p.m.; and Jan 26 at noon at the Youth Villages office in Columbia at 115 Dyer Street, Suite 1.

The Cornersville Athletic Booster Club will hold a meeting on Friday, Jan. 8, in the hospitality room at Cornersville High School Gym between the boys' and girls' basketball games. All members are urged to attend.


The Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry Distribution is scheduled for Saturday Jan. 9. at the Borden Storage Building, 570 West Church Street, Lewisburg. Volunteers are asked to arrive around 8:30 a.m. and the truck should arrive at 9 a.m.


There will be a Road Committee meeting at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at the Marshall County Highway department.

The Marshall County Board of Education Teacher Recruitment Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at the Central Office, 700 Jones Circle, Lewisburg, followed at 6:30 p.m. by the full board's January meeting.


The Executive Board Committee of the Marshall County Joint Economic and Community Development Board will meet at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, in conference room 118 at the Columbia State Community College Lewisburg site.


A meeting of the South Central Tennessee Workforce Board Local Workforce Investment Area Ten (LWIA 10) will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at at the Tennessee Career Center, 119 Nashville Highway-Suite 106, Columbia.

The January CHYFL board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Chapel Hill Fire Hall. This meeting is open to the public.


The Alzheimer's Association Marshall County Caregiver Support Group will meet at noon Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Senior Citizens Center, 230 College St., Lewisburg. Refreshments will be provided. The Police Advisory Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Lewisburg Police Dept., 101 Water Street.

The Marshall County Solid Waste Committee will be meeting Thursday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m. in Room 2204, Courthouse Annex.


The Senior Citizens Covered Dish Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at the Senior Center, 230 College St., Lewisburg.


The Town of Chapel Hill City Offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The office will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.

The Marshall County Memorial Library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18, for Martin Luther King Jr. birthday.


There will be an information session on the upcoming Entrepreneur Classes to be offered at CSCC-Lewisburg at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Tennessee Career Center on the Columbia State Community College Campus in Lewisburg. The Marshall County Board of Public Utilities will hold its regular monthly board meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the conference room at 624 W. Commerce St, Lewisburg.


There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Church Street Church of Christ, 305 W. Church St., Lewisburg.
