Has it been cold enough for you? It's been a little too cold for me. I didn't leave the house for three days last week I was beginning to get a little "stir crazy." I'm glad it's getting warmer - not warm - just warmer.

CHES and Forrest students and teachers get another holiday Monday, Jan. 18, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It seems like this happens every year - students return to school for a few days after Christmas vacation; schools are closed due to snow; students return for a few more days at school and a regular holiday is scheduled. These things happened when I was in school (back in the dark ages). Oh, well - that's the way January goes.

Are you ready for some "real" basketball? The Forrest Alumni/Community Basketball Games are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Forrest gym. The doors open at 5 p.m. The price of admission includes access to the Hospitality Area (food and drink).

The action begins at 6 p.m. The Chapel Hill stars will take on the WKRN Channel 2 News Team. Men, your help is needed to defeat John Dwyer, Joe Dubin and others.

The ladies' and men's games will follow. Exhibition play by our local traveling teams. There will also be Rocket Pride gear for sale.

Come out for a fun night with friends and help support the Forrest Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Donations of finger foods to the hospitality area will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, contact Katie Harris at 364-7330.

The Rocket basketball teams are ready to go to Eagleville Friday, Jan. 15, for games beginning at 6 p.m.; Tuesday, Jan. 19, will see them at the Forrest Gym for games with FC Boyd starting at 6 p.m.

The Rocket wrestlers will be at Creekwood Saturday, Jan. 16, for the Creekwood Tournament; Tuesday, Jan. 19, they'll travel to Tullahoma for matches with Tullahoma and Wilson Central, beginning at 5 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 21, will take them to Murfreesboro for matches with Riverdale.

Have a wonderful week, and let's hope for some more "warmer" weather.
