Stalking trial set in Shelbyville

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

SHELBYVILLE - Two days have been scheduled for the trial of a Lewisburg man charged with stalking a teen.

Andy Lynn Wallace, 35, of Nashville Highway, is to face a Bedford County Circuit Court jury starting April 5. Pre-trial motions are to be heard March 4.

Circuit Court Judge Lee Russell scheduled the dates Thursday.

Wallace is accused of sending text messages to a 16-year-old girl "and also making inappropriate requests of the female juvenile via text message," according to Bedford County Sheriff's Department records.

He was indicted in November by the Bedford County grand jury on charges of soliciting and stalking a minor.

Russell ruled in December that Wallace would not be going to Iraq with the rest of his National Guard unit, but would be able to travel to Camp Shelby in Mississippi for temporary training as necessary.

John Norton, Wallace's attorney, had objected to any ruling that would limit his client from doing his job with the Guard.

Wallace has posted $32,000 bond.
