Obituary: Joe Leland McCollum

Joe Leland McCollum, 75, of Cornersville, died Jan. 22, 2010, in Maury Regional Hospital.

Mr. McCollum was a native of Marshall County. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the Army in Germany. He was a retired truck driver with the paper industry, after 20-plus years with Electrolux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorris and Grace Hobby McCollum;

brother, Foy McCollum; and sister, Robbie Davis.

He is survived by his son, Stephen (LaCreathia) McCollum of Columbia; sisters, Mavis Morrison of Tullahoma, Dathlene Adams of Brentwood and Annette Shelton of Lewisburg; stepdaughters, Sherian Fox of Columbia and Sheila Dodge of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted by Jimmy McCollum and Stephen McCollum on Sunday, Jan. 24, from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home, followed by burial in Beechwood Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Matt Fox, Kolt McCollum, Jeff Seckler, Terry Seckler, Jack Lee, Davin Rogers, Dylan Rogers, and Randy Morrison.
