After three days of suspended classes, Marshall County student, teachers and school personnel are to return to their normal schedule on Wednesday.
Marshall County schools will be in session tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 3," Interim Director of Schools Roy Dukes announced at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Bus drivers will use their discretion when on their routes, according to an announcement that was clarified by Dukes.
Bus drivers know their routes and would know if there's a road that's not safe, the interim director said, encouraging drivers to use "what we call safety discretion" to avoid unnecessary risks when driving.
Furthermore, school principals have discretion when making decisions on whether a student has a legitimate excuse because of dangerous roads and drivers' inability to get them to school. Principals, however, could give students "the benefit of the doubt" as they accept children back to classes when they might otherwise be unexcused.
