Chapel Hill Soccer, a TSSA league, will hold sign-ups for spring soccer from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday Feb. 6 and Feb. 13, at the Chapel Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church (in front of Forrest School). AYSO Soccer signups will be held Saturday, Feb. 6 (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) and Feb. 7 (1-4 p.m.) at the Lewisburg Recreation Center.

Final signups for Tball, softball and baseball will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at all locations. Feb. 8, 9 and 10, registration will be at the Richard Cashion Complex only from 5 to 7 p.m.

Columbia State Community College's History Department will host a free, public presentation by Dr. John Olson at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, in the Cherry Theater on the Columbia campus. Dr. Olson, who works with the National Archives, is one of the leading authorities on flags and maps.


The February CHYFL board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Chapel Hill Fire Hall. This meeting is open to the public.

The First United Methodist Church of Lewisburg will hold the final session of Soul Cafe, starting at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the McKnight Ministry Center. The committee which has been working at Fifty Forward since 2004 to produce a history book is almost through. They want to share with you some of the hundreds of photographs and stories which have been submitted for the book and get your comments and corrections before sending the manuscript to the publisher. The program will include a slide show of pictures and an opportunity to read part of the manuscript. Bring a covered dish and enjoy a presentation full of interesting history of the College Grove Community.
