A GOOD PUNCH RECIPE

Dissolve 2 packages of orange Kool-Aid in 1 quart of cold water with 1 1/2 cups of sugar in a gallon jug. Add a small can of frozen lemonade and stir until thawed. Add a large can of pineapple juice, stir well, and finish filling the jug with water.

PECAN-COCONUT BARS

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 stick margarine

2 cups crushed cornflakes

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup flaked coconut, toasted if you like

1 quart vanilla ice cream

Combine the sugar and margarine in a saucepan and boil for one minute. Pour over cornflake crumbs. Add pecans and coconut and mix well. Press half the mixture into a 9-inch cake pan. Cover with ice cream and top with remaining cornflake mixture. Cover with foil and freeze. 9 servings.

Wonder why all good recipes are expensive and fattening?

OUT OF THIS WORLD CAKE

Cream together:

2 sticks oleo

2 cups sugar

4 eggs, beaten

Add:

1 teaspoon baking powder

4 cups graham cracker crumbs

Blend well. Add:

1 cup milk

1 cup chopped nuts

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup coconut

Mix well and pour into a 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Topping:

4 tablespoons flour mixed with 1 cup sugar. Add 1 16-oz. can crushed pineapple and cook until thick. Spread over hot cake.

NO-COOK ICE CREAM

Mix together 2 cartons whipping cream, 2 cans Eagle Brand milk, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 gallon sweet milk. Add any kind of drained fruit desired (I like mashed ripe peaches). This makes 5 quarts. If your freezer only makes 1 gallon, you can cut the recipe down some.

FAKE STEAK

6 hamburger patties

1 onion, chopped

1 can mushroom soup

1 tablespoon shortening

In a heavy skillet, melt shortening and add onion. Brown. Then brown beef patties on each side. Pour mushroom soup on top of patties and simmer on low heat for 20 to 30 minutes.

GRATED APPLE PIE

2 cups shredded apples

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup melted butter

1/2 cup orange juice

Mix all together and put in unbaked pie shell. Cover with strips of pastry or a solid top with holes pricked in it. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. When lightly brown, brush with melted butter.

EASY BAKED CHICKEN

Mix 1 can undiluted cream of chicken soup, 1 can undiluted cream of mushroom soup, and 1 package of onion soup mix. Coat chicken pieces with this mixture and bake at 300 degrees for about 2 hours.
